About the Author:

 

I am Joan; I was born in Tonragee, County Mayo.  I left there at five months old in January with my Mother, Mary Kate, from Slievemore.  I left to go to school in Limerick, I would have loved to have gone to school in Achill.

I left there at 21 with my Mother for London.  Its 20 years since I was back at the Sound.
